Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Speed Train Inc. (“The Speed Train”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit thespeedtrain.com, contact us, fill out one of our forms (including lead forms on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook), or use our services. We are based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and quote forms: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), website URL, and anything you write in your message.
- Social media lead forms (e.g. our “Free Website Speed Check” form on TikTok): your name, email address and the website URL you submit. The platform passes these details to us when you submit the form.
- Client work: if you hire us, we may receive access to your website, hosting, or related accounts, plus billing details needed to invoice you.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site).
- Session insights: we use Microsoft Clarity to see aggregated heatmaps and session recordings that show how people move through our pages, so we can improve them. Clarity masks text you type into form fields.
- Security and performance: our site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP address and browser information to protect the site from attacks and deliver it quickly.
- Cookies: these tools use cookies and similar technologies. See section 5.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and run the free speed check or audit you asked for.
- To provide, manage and invoice our services (speed optimization, SEO, website management, web design).
- To follow up about your request. We will not add you to a marketing newsletter without your consent, and you can opt out of follow-up emails at any time.
- To understand and improve our website and content.
- To keep our website secure and prevent spam or abuse.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:
- Website hosting, Cloudflare (security and delivery), and our email provider.
- Google (Analytics, and the Google reviews shown on our site) and Microsoft (Clarity).
- Social platforms such as TikTok, Meta (Facebook / Instagram) and LinkedIn, when you choose to interact with us there. Their own privacy policies also apply.
- Our accountants, legal advisers, or authorities where required by law.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), so your information may be subject to the laws of those countries.
4. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and lead information for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as needed to provide our services and for up to 7 years afterwards to meet Canadian tax and accounting requirements. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of each tool.
5. Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them for analytics and site insights (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and for security (Cloudflare). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies won’t stop the site from working.
6. How we protect your information
We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, secure passwords and limited access, to protect your information. Any website login details you share with us for client work are used only for that work and removed when the work is finished, or sooner if you ask. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take care to protect your data.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information or stop contacting you;
- withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual limits.
Email info@thespeedtrain.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. Links to other websites
Our site links to other sites, such as social media profiles and client websites. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
